Praying in Any Direction Between East and West

SUMMARY: Umar ibn al-Khattab said that any direction between east and west can be taken as a qibla if the person praying is facing the House.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi that Umar ibn al-Khattab said, "Any direction that is between east and west can be taken as a qibla if the person praying is face-on to the House".

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow Islamic teachings even when you are not able to do something perfectly or exactly as prescribed by Islam.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains that when a person is praying, they can face any direction between east and west as their qibla. The qibla is the direction of prayer for Muslims which should be towards the Kaaba in Mecca. This hadith teaches us that it is permissible to pray in any direction between east and west if one cannot face directly towards Mecca due to certain circumstances. It also shows us how important it is to follow Islamic teachings even when we are not able to do something perfectly or exactly as prescribed by Islam. We should still strive to do our best with what we have available at our disposal.
