Spitting During Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) saw spittle on the wall of the qibla and warned people not to spit in front of them when they are praying as Allah is in front of them.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi from Abdullah ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, saw spittle on the wall of the qibla and scraped it off. Then he went up to the people and said, "Do not spit in front of you when you are praying, because Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, is in front of you when you pray".

QUICK LESSONS:
Do not spit while praying

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ saw spittle on the wall of the qibla and scraped it off. He then went up to the people and warned them not to spit in front of them when they are praying as Allah is in front of them. This hadith teaches us that we should be respectful while we pray by not spitting or doing anything disrespectful during prayer time. We should also remember that Allah is always watching us so we must be mindful about our actions at all times. It also teaches us that even if something small like spitting may seem insignificant, it can still have a negative impact on our prayer experience and relationship with Allah.
