Shortening Prayers During Hajj and Umra

SUMMARY: Abdullah ibn Umar shortened his prayer when he left for Hajj or Umra at Dhu'l Hulayfa.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi that Abdullah ibn Umar, shortened the prayer when he left for hajj or umra at Dhu'l Hulayfa.
حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ، كَانَ إِذَا خَرَجَ حَاجًّا أَوْ مُعْتَمِرًا قَصَرَ الصَّلاَةَ بِذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ

It was narrated by Yahya from Malik from Nafi that Abdullah ibn Umar shortened his prayer when he left for hajj or umra at Dhu'l Hulayfa. This shows us that it is important to shorten our prayers while on pilgrimage as it was done by one of the most prominent companions of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The act of shortening prayers during pilgrimage is a sign of respect towards Allah SWT and His commands.
