Praying with One Garment

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was seen praying in one garment, completely covering himself and had put both ends over his shoulders.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham ibn Urwa from his father that Umar ibn Abi Salama saw the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, praying in one garment in the house of Umm Salama. He was completely covered by it, and had put both ends over his shoulders.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the importance of modesty and humility when it comes to prayer. It is narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was seen praying in one garment which he had completely covered himself with and had put both ends over his shoulders. This shows us that we should be modest when we pray and not show off our clothing or body parts as this can be a distraction from our prayer. We should also strive to humble ourselves before Allah by wearing simple clothing during prayer so that we can focus on worshipping Him instead of worrying about what others may think of us.

The Prophet Muhammad's example teaches us to be humble in all aspects of life, especially when it comes to worshiping Allah. We should strive to follow his example by wearing modest clothing during prayer and focusing on worshipping Allah instead of worrying about what others may think or say about us. By doing this, we will be able to truly connect with Allah through our prayers and receive His blessings more easily than if we were distracted by worldly matters such as fashion or vanity.
