Musnad Ahmad 1411 (Book 7, Hadith 7) #35033
Seeking Shade After Jumuah Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) used to pray Jumuah and then seek shade, but the only shade available was the width of their feet.

It was narrated that az-Zubair bin al-'Awwam (رضي الله عنه) said: We used to pray Jumu’ah with the Prophet , then we would leave and seek the shade of the fortress, but we would not find any shade except (an area) the width of our feet.

QUICK LESSONS:
Pray jummah prayer and seek out shaded areas afterwards without taking away from others what little they have .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's practice of praying Jumuah and then seeking shade afterwards. He and his companions would look for a place to rest in the shade after prayer but they could only find a space that was as wide as their feet. This hadith teaches us that we should be content with what we have even if it is not much. We should also be mindful of our actions and how they affect others; if we are looking for a place to rest in the shade, we should make sure that it does not inconvenience anyone else or take away from them what little they have.
