Take care when sacrificing an animal as we are responsible for its wellbeing before offering it as an act of worship towards Allah Almighty .

This hadith is about the instructions given by Ali regarding the sacrifice of a cow and other animals. It was narrated from Hujayyah bin 'Adiyy that 'Ali was asked about a cow and he said that it may be sacrificed on behalf of seven people. He was then asked about a cow with a broken horn, to which he replied that it does not matter. He was also asked about a lame animal, to which he replied that if it can reach the place of sacrifice then it should be sacrificed. Lastly, he said that The Messenger of Allah instructed us to check the eyes and ears before sacrificing an animal. This hadith teaches us to take care when sacrificing an animal as we are responsible for its wellbeing before offering it as an act of worship towards Allah Almighty. We must ensure that all parts are in good condition so as not to cause any harm or suffering upon them unnecessarily, thus fulfilling our responsibility towards them in accordance with Islamic teachings.
