Accept whatever decision Allah makes regarding any matter ; Follow in the footsteps of our beloved prophet Muhammad ; Strive to learn & practice Prophetic teachings .

This hadith speaks about the succession of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, after his death. It was narrated by 'Amr bin Sufyan that a man gave a speech when 'Ali prevailed on the day of Basrah and 'Ali said that this speaker does not know what he is talking about. The Messenger of Allah came first, Abu Bakr came second and Umar came third. After they were gone, people got involved in turmoil and Allah will judge concerning it as He wills. This hadith teaches us to accept whatever decision Allah makes regarding any matter as He knows best what is right for us even if we do not understand why something happened or why something did not happen in our lives or in our society at large. We should also remember that we should always strive to follow in the footsteps of our beloved prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, no matter who succeeds him or who comes after him because he was sent by God as a mercy to all mankind and his teachings are timeless and universal for all times to come until judgement day arrives.
