This hadith is about examining sacrificial animals before they are slaughtered. It was narrated by Hujayyah that a man asked Ali ibn Abi Talib about sacrificing a cow, to which he replied that it can be done on behalf of seven people regardless of its physical condition. He then went on to explain that even if the cow has a broken horn or is lame, as long as it can reach the place of sacrifice, then it should be slaughtered. The Messenger of Allah also commanded us to examine the eyes and ears before slaughtering an animal for sacrifice. This hadith teaches us to take care when selecting an animal for sacrifice and ensure that we are not neglectful in our duties towards Allah's commands. We should also strive to make sure our sacrifices are accepted by Allah by ensuring they meet all requirements set out in Islamic law.
