Following the Advice of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

SUMMARY: 'Uthman (??? ???? ???) forbade a man from entering ihram for both ['umrah and Hajj], but the man chose to follow the advice of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ instead.

It was narrated that Marwan bin al-Hakam said: We were walking with 'Uthman (رضي الله عنه) and saw a man entering ihram for both 'umrah and Hajj'.Uthman (رضي الله عنه) said Who is this? They said: 'Ali. He said: Do you not know that I have forbidden this? He said: Yes, but I will not give up the advice of the Messenger of Allah for your opinion.
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ الْبَطِينِ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ، عَنْ مَرْوَانَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ، قَالَ كُنَّا نَسِيرُ مَعَ عُثْمَانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ يُلَبِّي بِهِمَا جَمِيعًا فَقَالَ عُثْمَانُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ مَنْ هَذَا فَقَالُوا عَلِيٌّ فَقَالَ أَلَمْ تَعْلَمْ أَنِّي قَدْ نَهَيْتُ عَنْ هَذَا قَالَ بَلَى وَلَكِنْ لَمْ أَكُنْ لِأَدَعَ قَوْلَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ لِقَوْلِكَ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about following the advice of Prophet Muhammad (?, ??? ?????). It was narrated by Marwan bin al-Hakam that he was walking with Uthman (?, ??? ???? ???) when they saw a man entering ihram for both umrah and hajj. Uthman asked who it was and they said it was Ali. He then said that he had forbidden this but Ali replied that he would not give up the advice of the Messenger of Allah for his opinion. This hadith teaches us to always prioritize following what our beloved prophet has taught us over any other opinion or commandment given by anyone else. We should strive to live our lives according to his teachings as much as possible in order to gain Allah's pleasure and mercy in this life and hereafter.
