Musnad Ahmad 680 (Book 5, Hadith 113) #34339
The Disciple of the Prophet Muhammad

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) had a disciple, Az-Zubair, and the Prophet warned that anyone who kills him will enter the Fire.

It was narrated that Zirr bin Hubaish said: Ibn Jarmuz asked for permission to enter upon 'Ali He said: Who is this? They said: Jarmuz is asking for permission to enter upon you. He said: Let him in; let the killer of Az-Zubair enter the Fire, I heard the Messenger of Allah say: "Every Prophet has a disciple and my disciple is Az-Zubair".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith tells us about the importance of respecting those close to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It was narrated by Zirr bin Hubaish that Ibn Jarmuz asked for permission to enter upon 'Ali. When 'Ali heard this he said "Let him in; let the killer of Az-Zubair enter the Fire". This shows us how important it was for 'Ali to protect those close to his beloved prophet. The hadith also tells us that every prophet has a disciple and in this case, it was Az-Zubair who was chosen as a disciple by Allah's messenger. Therefore, we should respect those close to our prophets and not harm them in any way as it is considered an act against Allah's will. We should also strive to be like these disciples and follow their example so we can be closer to Allah's mercy and love.
