Praying Witr Before Dawn

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to pray Witr at different times of the night, but eventually settled on praying it just before dawn.

It was narrated that 'Ali (رضي الله عنه) said: The Messenger of Allah prayed Witr at the beginning of the night and at the end and in the middle. And in the end he settled on praying Witr just before dawn.

QUICK LESSONS:
Strive for consistency in worship and practice; Strive for consistency in daily life routine

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by 'Ali ibn Abi Talib tells us that the Prophet Muhammad used to pray a special prayer called "Witr" at different times of the night. This prayer is usually prayed after Isha and before Fajr prayers. However, in this hadith we learn that he eventually settled on praying it just before dawn. This teaches us that we should strive to be consistent in our worship and practice so as not to confuse ourselves or others around us. We should also strive for consistency in our daily lives so as not to become overwhelmed with too many changes or tasks all at once.
