Musnad Ahmad 594 (Book 5, Hadith 31) #34257
Four Teachings of Hajj

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ sent 'Ali (??? ???? ???) with Abu Bakr (??? ???? ???) for Hajj and instructed him to spread four teachings: that only a believing soul will enter Paradise, no one should circumambulate the Kabah naked, any covenant made with the Prophet ﷺ will remain in effect until the agreed time, and mushrikeen were not to perform Hajj with Muslims after that year.

It was narrated from Zaid bin Uthai', a man from Hamdan: We asked 'Ali (رضي الله عنه) With what were you sent, ie, on the day the Prophet sent you with Abu Bakr (رضي الله عنه) for Hajj? He said: I was sent with four things. No one will enter Paradise except a believing soul; no one should circumambulate the Ka’bah naked; whoever had a covenant with the Prophet it would remain in effect until the agreed time; and the mushrikeen were not to perform Hajj with the Muslims after that year.

QUICK LESSONS:
Have faith in Allah SWT ; Circumambulate Kabah while being properly clothed; Honor covenants; Respect Islamic principles & beliefs .

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ sent 'Ali ibn Abi Talib ﷺ and Abu Bakr Siddiq ﷺ on a mission to perform Hajj. During this mission, he instructed them to spread four teachings among people. Firstly, only those who have faith in Allah SWT will be able to enter Paradise. Secondly, no one should circumambulate the Kabah while being naked or without proper clothing covering their body parts as per Islamic guidelines. Thirdly, any covenant made between two parties during the lifetime of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ would remain valid until its agreed time period is over. Lastly, mushrikeen were not allowed to perform Hajj along with Muslims after that year onwards as it was against Islamic principles and beliefs at that time period. These teachings are important for all Muslims even today as they help us understand our duties towards Allah SWT and other fellow human beings better so we can live our lives according to His commands in order to gain His pleasure and mercy upon us in this world and hereafter InshaAllah!
