The Power of Ruqyah and Healing

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) reciting Ruqyah for a sick person and asking Allah to grant healing without leaving any sickness behind.

It was narrated that 'Ali (رضي الله عنه) said: When the Messenger of Allah recited Ruqyah for a sick person, said: "Remove the hardship and suffering. Lord of mankind, and grant healing, for You are the Healer and there is no healing except Your healing; (grant) healing which does not leave any sickness behind'.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ، مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِذَا عَوَّذَ مَرِيضًا قَالَ أَذْهِبْ الْبَاسَ رَبَّ النَّاسِ اشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ شِفَاءً لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the power of reciting Ruqyah for a sick person. It was narrated that 'Ali ibn Abi Talib said that when the Messenger of Allah recited Ruqyah for a sick person he would say "Remove the hardship and suffering. Lord of mankind, and grant healing, for You are the Healer and there is no healing except Your healing; grant healing which does not leave any sickness behind." This shows us how powerful prayer can be in times of need. It also teaches us to have faith in Allah's ability to heal us from our ailments without leaving any trace behind. We should always turn to Him in times of difficulty as He is our only source of true comfort and solace.
