Musnad Ahmad 14 (Book 1, Hadith 14) #33712
Inheritance of Prophets

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that if a Prophet dies, the wealth they have should be given to those who take charge after them.

It was narrated that Abu Tufail said: When the Messenger of Allah died, Fatimah sent word to Abu Bakr saying: Are you the heir of the Messenger of Allah or are his family? He said: No, rather his family (are his heirs). She said: Where is the share of the Messenger of Allah ? Abu Bakr said: I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'If Allah grants some wealth to a Prophet, then takes his soul. He grants it to the one who took charge after him'. So I have decided to give the benefit of it to the Muslims. She said: That is fine, and you know best what you heard from the Messenger of Allah . Muhaqalah

Listen carefully to teachings from elders , Share wealth with others in need

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the inheritance of Prophets. It was narrated by Abu Tufail that when the Messenger of Allah passed away, Fatimah asked Abu Bakr if he was the heir of the Messenger or his family. He replied that it was his family who were his heirs and then explained that he heard from the Messenger of Allah himself that if Allah grants some wealth to a Prophet and then takes their soul, it should be given to those who take charge after them. Fatimah accepted this decision as she knew best what she heard from the Messenger of Allah. This hadith teaches us an important lesson about inheritance; when a prophet passes away, their wealth should be given to those in charge afterwards for benefit of all Muslims. It also shows us how much respect we must give to our elders and how we must listen carefully to their teachings as they are wise words coming from experience and knowledge.
