The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the Hour of Judgement

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) compared himself and the Hour of Judgement to two fingers held together.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said: "I and the Hour have been sent like these two," and he held up his two fingers together.
حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ، وَأَبُو هِشَامٍ الرِّفَاعِيُّ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَصِينٍ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ ـ ‏ "‏ بُعِثْتُ أَنَا وَالسَّاعَةُ كَهَاتَيْنِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ وَجَمَعَ بَيْنَ إِصْبَعَيْهِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the comparison between the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him, PBUH) and the Hour of Judgement. It was narrated by Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said "I and the Hour have been sent like these two," while holding up his two fingers together. This hadith is a reminder for us to be mindful of our actions as we do not know when judgement day will come. We should strive to live our lives in accordance with Islamic teachings so that we can be prepared for it when it comes. We should also remember that just as Allah has sent His messenger, He will also send judgement day which will bring justice to all mankind. Therefore, we must always strive to do good deeds in order to receive Allah's mercy on judgement day.
