The Power of a Father's Supplication

SUMMARY: The supplication of a father is powerful and reaches the place of repentance.

It was narrated that Umm Haim bint Wadda' Al-Khuza'iyyah said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (SAWS) say: 'The supplication of a father reaches the Veil (ie the place of repentance)'."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ، حَدَّثَتْنَا حَبَابَةُ ابْنَةُ عَجْلاَنَ، عَنْ أُمِّهَا أُمِّ حَفْصٍ، عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ جَرِيرٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ حَكِيمٍ بِنْتِ وَدَاعٍ الْخُزَاعِيَّةِ، قَالَتْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ ـ يَقُولُ ‏ "‏ دُعَاءُ الْوَالِدِ يُفْضِي إِلَى الْحِجَابِ
