Seeking Guidance and Affluence from Allah

SUMMARY: The Prophet (SAWS) asked Allah for guidance, piety, chastity and affluence.

It was narrated from 'Abdullah that : the Prophet (SAWS) used to say: "Allahumma inni as'alukal-huda wat-tuqa wal-'afaf wal-ghina (O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity and affluence)".
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي الأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ـ ـ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ ‏ "‏ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْهُدَى وَالتُّقَى وَالْعَفَافَ وَالْغِنَى

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's supplication to Allah for guidance, piety, chastity and affluence. He asked Allah to guide him in the right path so that he can be a pious person who abstains from all sins and wrongdoings. He also asked for financial stability so that he can provide for himself and his family. This hadith teaches us that we should always seek help from Allah in all matters of life as He is the only one who can truly help us in our times of need. We should also strive to be pious people by avoiding sins and wrongdoings as this will bring us closer to Him. Lastly, we should always remember that financial stability is important but it should not come at the cost of our faith or morals as these are more important than anything else in life.
