Seeking Refuge in the Perfect Words of Allah

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ used to seek refuge for Hasan and Husain in the Perfect Words of Allah from every devil, poisonous reptile, and evil eye.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: "The Prophet used to seek refuge for Hasan and Husain and say: A’udhu bi kalimatil-lahil- tammati, min kulli shaitanin wa hammah, wa min kulli 'aynin lammah (I seek refuge for you both in the Perfect Words of Allah, from every devil and every poisonous reptile, and from every evil eye).’ And he would say: 'Thus Ibrahim used to seek refuge with Allah for Isma’il and Ishaq,’ or he said: 'for Isma’il and Ya’qub.’"

QUICK LESSONS:
Seek refuge with God through his perfect words

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about seeking refuge in the perfect words of Allah. It was narrated by Ibn 'Abbas that the Prophet Muhammad used to seek refuge for Hasan and Husain with these words “Audhu bi kalimatil-lahil- tammati, min kulli shaitanin wa hammah, wa min kulli 'aynin lammah” which translates to “I seek refuge for you both in the perfect words of Allah from every devil and every poisonous reptile, and from every evil eye”. He also said that this is what Ibrahim used to do when he sought refuge with Allah for Ismail and Ishaq or Ismail and Yaqub. This hadith teaches us that we should always turn to Allah's perfect words when we are seeking protection from any harm or danger. We should also remember that even prophets like Ibrahim sought protection through these words so it is important for us as Muslims to do so too.
