Sunan Ibn Majah 3063 (Book 25, Hadith 182) #32417
Praying in the Ka’bah

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) prayed in the Ka’bah on the Day of Conquest, between two columns.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: "The Messenger of Allah entered the Ka’bah on the Day of the Conquest (of Makkah), with Bilal and 'Uthman bin Shaibah, and they locked the door behind them from the inside. When they came out, I asked Bilal: 'Where did the Messenger of Allah pray?’ He told me that when he entered, he turned to his right and prayed in the direction that he was facing, between the two columns".

QUICK LESSONS:
Pray regularly at holy sites like the Ka'bah .

EXPLANATIONS:
On the Day of Conquest, Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) entered the Ka'bah with Bilal and Uthman bin Shaibah and locked it from inside. When they came out, Ibn 'Umar asked Bilal where did he pray and he told him that when he entered, he turned to his right and prayed in that direction between two columns. This hadith teaches us about how important prayer is for Muslims as it was even done by Prophet Muhammad himself on such a significant day. It also shows us how much respect we should have for places of worship like the Ka'bah which is considered to be one of Islam's holiest sites. Furthermore, this hadith also highlights how important it is to follow instructions given by our elders as Ibn 'Umar followed what Bilal said without questioning him further.
