QUICK LESSONS:
Stay committed to your obligations no matter what others do or say; strive for excellence in fulfilling your duties as Muslims and be steadfast in your faith.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about staying committed to one's obligations. In this case, it was about the obligation of completing Ihram and offering a sacrifice. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was explaining to his wife Hafsah why he hadn't exited his state of Ihram yet even though others had done so. He said that he had applied something on his head in order to keep his hair together and garlanded his sacrificial animal, so he would not exit until after offering the sacrifice. This teaches us that we should stay committed to our obligations no matter what others do or say; we should strive for excellence in fulfilling our duties as Muslims and be steadfast in our faith.
