Sunan Ibn Majah 2865 (Book 24, Hadith 113) #32219
Obeying Those Who Disobey Allah

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ warned that after his death, there will be people who will extinguish the Sunnah and follow innovation, and delay prayer from its proper time. He advised not to obey them as it is disobedience to Allah.

It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin Mas’ud that the Prophet said: "Among those in charge of you, after I am gone, will be men who extinguish the Sunnah and follow innovation. They will delay the prayer from its proper time". I said: "O Messenger of Allah, if I live to see them, what should I do?" He said: "You ask me, O Ibn 'Abd, what you should do? There is no obedience to one who disobeys Allah".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith was narrated by Abdullah bin Masud, in which the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ warned about those who will come after him and disobey Allah by extinguishing the Sunnah and following innovations instead. He also mentioned that they would delay prayer from its proper time. When asked what should be done if one lives to see them, he replied that there is no obedience to one who disobeys Allah. This hadith teaches us that we must always obey Allah's commands over anyone else's orders or instructions even if it means going against someone in authority or power. We must never compromise our faith for any reason whatsoever as this would be a form of disobedience towards God Almighty.
