Obedience to Authority

SUMMARY: The Muslim is obligated to obey the ruler unless they are commanded to do something sinful.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah said: "The Muslim is obliged to obey (the ruler) whether he likes it or not, unless he is commanded to commit an act of disobedience. If he is commanded to commit a sin then he should neither listen nor obey".

QUICK LESSONS:
Obey your ruler unless commanded otherwise

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains that Muslims should obey their rulers, even if they don't like it, unless the ruler commands them to do something sinful. This means that Muslims should not disobey their rulers and should follow their orders as long as those orders are not against Islamic teachings. It is important for Muslims to remember this because it helps keep order in society and allows people of different backgrounds and beliefs to live together peacefully. Additionally, this hadith teaches us that we must always be mindful of our actions and make sure we are following Islamic teachings even when we may disagree with our leaders or those in authority over us.
