QUICK LESSONS:
Respect others' rights , Seek help from those in charge of enforcing justice , Consider all your options before making a decision
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a person's right to choose between two options when their relative is killed. The first option is qisas, which means that they can have the killer killed in retaliation for what they did. The second option is diya, which means that they can demand a certain amount of money as compensation for what happened. This hadith teaches us that we should respect other people's rights and not take justice into our own hands, but instead seek help from those who are in charge of enforcing justice. It also teaches us to be patient and consider all our options before making a decision.
