SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that whoever takes care of a close relative, they will be freed from any obligations.

It was narrated from Ibn'Umar that the Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever becomes the master of a Mahram relative, he becomes free".

QUICK LESSONS:
Take on responsibilities for your close relatives' wellbeing
EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Ibn 'Umar teaches us the importance of taking care of our close relatives. A Mahram relative is someone who is related to you in such a way that marriage between the two would be forbidden, such as a parent or sibling. In this hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught us that if we take on the responsibility to look after these close relatives, then we are freed from any obligations or duties towards them. This means that if we take on this responsibility and do it well, then Allah will reward us for it and free us from any other obligations towards them. This hadith also teaches us about selflessness and how important it is to put others before ourselves in order to gain Allah's pleasure.
