The Right of Lifelong Grants

SUMMARY: Giving a lifelong grant to someone is binding and the recipient has the right to it and his heirs.

It was narrated that Jabir said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Whoever gives a lifelong grant to a man, it belongs to him (the recipient) and to his heirs. His (the giver's) words put an end to his right to it, and it belongs to the one to whom it was given for life and to his heirs".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of giving a lifelong grant to someone. A lifelong grant is an agreement between two parties, where one party gives something of value to another for life. In this case, it was narrated by Jabir that he heard the Messenger of Allah say that whoever gives a lifelong grant to a man, it belongs to him and his heirs. This means that once the giver has given away something for life, their words put an end to their right over it and it now belongs solely to the recipient and his heirs. This hadith teaches us about generosity, kindness, justice and fairness in our dealings with others as well as respecting agreements made between two parties. It also teaches us about taking responsibility for our actions and being mindful of how we treat others in our society.
