EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the importance of honesty and integrity in our lives. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was passing by a man who had food in a vessel when he put his hand in it and said “Perhaps you are cheating. Whoever cheats us is not one of us”. This shows that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was warning against any kind of dishonesty or cheating as it is not tolerated within the Islamic faith. He wanted to make sure that everyone was honest with each other so that they could all live together peacefully and harmoniously without any mistrust or deceit between them. This hadith teaches us to be honest with each other at all times, even if it means sacrificing something for ourselves, because ultimately we will be rewarded for our honesty and integrity in this life as well as the hereafter.
