Overcoming Temptation During Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) was able to overcome Satan's attempts to distract him during prayer.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet offered a prayer, and (after finishing) he said, "Satan came in front of me trying persistently to divert my attention from the prayer, but Allah gave me the strength to over-power him".
حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شَبَابَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ أَنَّهُ صَلَّى صَلاَةً فَقَالَ ‏ "‏ إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ عَرَضَ لِي، فَشَدَّ عَلَىَّ يَقْطَعُ الصَّلاَةَ عَلَىَّ، فَأَمْكَنَنِي اللَّهُ مِنْهُ ‏"‏‏.‏ فَذَكَرَهُ‏.‏
