SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that Zakat is not due on wealth until a year has passed.

QUICK LESSONS:
Pay Zakat after a Hawl passes

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us about the timing of paying zakat. According to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), zakat is not due on wealth until one year has passed. This means that if someone owns something for less than a year, they do not have to pay zakat on it yet. However, once the item has been owned for more than a year, then it becomes obligatory to pay zakat on it. This hadith also teaches us about responsibility and accountability; we must be mindful of our possessions and ensure that we are fulfilling our religious obligations in regards to them. Additionally, this hadith encourages us to be generous with our wealth and share it with those who are less fortunate than ourselves.
