Cupping and Fasting

SUMMARY: Cupping does not break the fast of the person who is cupping or the person for whom it is done.

It was narrated that Thawban said: "I heard the Prophet say: 'The Cupper and the one for whom cupping is done both break their fast.’"

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow religious obligations even when faced with difficulties or obstacles
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that cupping, which is a traditional medical practice, does not break one's fast. This means that if someone has to get cupped while fasting, they can do so without breaking their fast. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us this lesson and encouraged people to continue fasting even if they have to get cupped during their fast. This hadith also teaches us about patience and perseverance in our faith as we should strive to complete our religious obligations even when faced with difficulties or obstacles.
