Making Up Missed Fasts

SUMMARY: Aishah used to owe fasts from the month of Ramadan and would make them up in Shaban.

It was narrated that Abu Salamah said: "I heard 'Aishah say: 'I used to owe fasts from the month of Ramadan, and I would not make them up for until Sha’ban came.’"
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، وَعَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ تَقُولُ: إِنْ كَانَ لَيَكُونُ عَلَىَّ الصِّيَامُ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ فَمَا أَقْضِيهِ حَتَّى يَجِيءَ شَعْبَانُ

This hadith is about making up missed fasts from the month of Ramadan. It was narrated by Abu Salamah that he heard 'Aishah say that she used to owe fasts from the month of Ramadan, and she would not make them up until Shaban came. This hadith teaches us that if we miss any fasts during the month of Ramadan, we should make them up as soon as possible in order to fulfill our obligations.
