The Reward of Ramadan and Dhul-Hijjah

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ taught that Ramadan and Dhul-Hijjah are two months of Eid whose reward cannot be reduced, even if they are only twenty-nine days.

It was narrated that from 'Abdur-Rahman bin Abu Bakrah, from his father, that the Prophet said: "Two months of 'Eid whose reward cannot be reduced (even if they are twenty-nine days): 'Ramadan and Dhul-Hijjah".
حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ـ ـ قَالَ: ‏ "‏ شَهْرَا عِيدٍ لاَ يَنْقُصَانِ رَمَضَانُ وَذُو الْحِجَّةِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us the importance of the two months of Ramadan and Dhul Hijjah in Islam. During these two months Muslims have a greater chance to gain rewards from Allah for their good deeds. Even if these two months are only twenty nine days long, the reward will not be reduced in any way. This is because Allah has promised to give rewards for all good deeds done with sincerity during these blessed times. It is important to remember that we should strive to do as many good deeds as possible during this time so that we can receive maximum rewards from Allah on the Day of Judgment.
