The Importance of Praying on Time

SUMMARY: Praying on time is important and if you reach the Imam leading the prayer on time, then pray with them.

It was narrated from Abu Dharr that the Prophet said: "Offer prayer on time, and if you reached the Imam leading them in prayers (on time), then perform it with them, and you will be safe with your prayer, otherwise it will be voluntary for you".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith emphasizes the importance of praying on time. It was narrated by Abu Dharr that Prophet Muhammad said that one should offer prayer at its appointed time and if they reach the Imam leading them in prayers, then perform it with them. Doing so will ensure that their prayer is valid and accepted by Allah, otherwise it will be voluntary for them. This hadith teaches us to be punctual in our prayers as well as to respect those who are leading us in prayers. It also encourages us to join others in congregational prayer whenever possible as it has more reward than praying alone.
