The Prophet's Prayer of Witr

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) would pray Witr at different times of the night, and he would perform it just before dawn when he died.

It was narrated that Masruq said: "I asked 'Aishah about the Witr of the Messenger of Allah . She said: 'He prayed Witr at every part of the night, at the beginning, in the middle and at the end, when he died (he would perform it) just before dawn.’"

QUICK LESSONS:
Pray regularly throughout your life so you can be closer to Allah .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of prayer in Islam. It was narrated by Masruq that he asked 'Aishah about the Witr prayer of the Messenger of Allah. She said that he prayed it at every part of the night - beginning, middle and end - and when he died, just before dawn. This shows us how important prayer is to Muslims; even in his last moments on earth, Prophet Muhammad was still praying to Allah. It also teaches us that we should strive to make our prayers regular throughout our lives so that we can be closer to Allah. We should also remember that no matter what situation we are in or how busy our lives get, we should always take time out for prayer as it is a way for us to connect with God and seek His guidance in all aspects of life.
