The Practice of Reciting Qunut After Ruku

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad asked Anas bin Malik about Qunut and Anas replied that the Prophet recited Qunut after Ruku.

It was narrated that Muhammad said: "I asked Anas bin Malik about Qunut, and he said: 'The Messenger of Allah recited Qunut after Ruku’.’"
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ عَنِ الْقُنُوتِ، فَقَالَ قَنَتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ ـ بَعْدَ الرُّكُوعِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the practice of reciting a prayer known as ‘Qunut’ after performing a bow known as ‘Ruku’ in Islamic prayer. It was narrated by Anas bin Malik that the Prophet Muhammad asked him about this practice and he replied that the Messenger of Allah used to recite Qunut after Ruku. This hadith teaches us to follow in the footsteps of our beloved prophet and perform this act during our prayers.
