Honor agreements with others even if they are not Muslim

Umar bin Al-Khattab was a companion of Prophet Muhammad and one of the most influential leaders in Islamic history. He was known for his wise advice and counsel. In this hadith, he is advising people to fulfill Allah’s convention with the dhimmis as it is a source of livelihood for their dependents. A dhimmi is a non-Muslim living in an Islamic state who has certain rights and responsibilities under Islamic law. The convention refers to an agreement between Muslims and non-Muslims that outlines these rights and responsibilities. This hadith teaches us that we should honor our agreements with others even if they are not Muslim because it can be beneficial to us in many ways such as providing financial stability for our families or creating peace between different communities.
