Making Prayers Easier for Followers

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) wanted to make it easier for his followers by not commanding them to delay the 'Isha' prayer.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that: The Messenger of Allah said: "Were it not that it would be too difficult for my Ummah, I would have commanded them to delay the 'Isha'".
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏.‏ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ ـ قَالَ ‏ "‏ لَوْلاَ أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي لأَمَرْتُهُمْ بِتَأْخِيرِ الْعِشَاءِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the mercy and compassion of Prophet Muhammad towards his followers. He was aware that certain obligations can be difficult for people to fulfill and so he chose not to command them in order to make it easier on them. This hadith teaches us that we should always strive to make things easier on others when possible and show mercy and compassion towards those who are struggling with their obligations. We should also remember that Allah is Most Merciful and will forgive us if we are unable to fulfill our obligations due to difficulty or hardship.
