Ablution and Bath Requirements for Prostatic Fluid and Semen

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that ablution is necessary for prostatic fluid and a bath is necessary for semen.

It was narrated that 'Ali said: "The Messenger of Allah was asked about prostatic fluid and he said: 'For that ablution (is necessary), and for semen, bath is necessary'."
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ ـ عَنِ الْمَذْىِ فَقَالَ ‏ "‏ فِيهِ الْوُضُوءُ وَفِي الْمَنِيِّ الْغُسْلُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us about the requirements of ablution and bath according to Islamic teachings. The Prophet Muhammad was asked about prostatic fluid which is a type of liquid released from the male reproductive organ during arousal or excitement. He said that ablution or wudu is necessary in this case. He also said that if semen is released then a full bath or ghusl must be taken. This hadith shows us how important it is to follow Islamic teachings when it comes to cleanliness and purity as prescribed by Allah SWT in the Quran. It also teaches us about taking responsibility for our actions and being mindful of our behavior at all times so we can remain pure before Allah SWT at all times.
