The Importance of Purification in Prayers and Charity

SUMMARY: Allah does not accept any prayer or charity without purification.

It was narrated that Abu Bakrah said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Allah does not accept any Salat (prayer) without purification, and He does not accept any charity from Ghulul'."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَقِيلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْخَلِيلُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ ـ ‏ "‏ لاَ يَقْبَلُ اللَّهُ صَلاَةً بِغَيْرِ طُهُورٍ وَلاَ صَدَقَةً مِنْ غُلُولٍ

This hadith is about the importance of purifying oneself before performing prayers and giving charity. It was narrated by Abu Bakrah that the Messenger of Allah said that Allah does not accept any prayer or charity without purification. This means that it is important to cleanse ourselves spiritually and physically before we perform our prayers or give charity. We must make sure to be in a state of purity when we pray so that our prayers are accepted by Allah. Similarly, when we give charity it should be done with a pure heart and intention so that it is accepted by Allah as well.
