The Importance of Purification in Prayers and Charity

SUMMARY: Allah does not accept any prayer or charity without purification.

It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Allah does not accept any prayer without purification, and He does not accept any charity from Ghulul'."
حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ أَبِي سَهْلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُهَيْرٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ سِنَانِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ ـ يَقُولُ ‏ "‏ لاَ يَقْبَلُ اللَّهُ صَلاَةً بِغَيْرِ طُهُورٍ وَلاَ يَقْبَلُ صَدَقَةً مِنْ غُلُولٍ

This hadith is about the importance of purifying oneself before praying and giving charity. It was narrated by Anas bin Malik that he heard the Messenger of Allah say that Allah does not accept any prayer or charity without purification. This means that it is important to cleanse ourselves spiritually and physically before engaging in these activities as a way to show respect for God. It also teaches us to be mindful of our actions and how they can affect our relationship with God. Additionally, this hadith warns us against Ghulul which is taking something from someone else's property without their permission or knowledge. We should always strive to be honest and just in all our dealings with others so as not to incur the wrath of God upon ourselves.
