The Prophet's Smile of Acceptance

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) always smiled when he looked at Jarir after he accepted Islam.

Narrated Jarir: "The Messenger of Allah never screened me since I accepted Islam, nor did he look at me except that he smiled".
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ مَا حَجَبَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ مُنْذُ أَسْلَمْتُ وَلاَ رَآنِي إِلاَّ تَبَسَّمَ ‏.‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the kindness and acceptance of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). After Jarir accepted Islam, the Prophet never screened him or looked at him without smiling. This shows that the Prophet was very welcoming and accepting of those who chose to follow his teachings. He showed them love and kindness in order to make them feel comfortable in their new faith. It also teaches us that we should be kind and accepting towards others regardless of their beliefs or backgrounds.
