The Mercy of Allah

SUMMARY: Allah's mercy is greater than His wrath.

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: "Verily, Allah when He created the creation, He wrote with His Hand concerning Himself, that: 'My mercy prevails over My wrath.’"
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلاَنَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ قَالَ ‏ "‏ إِنَّ اللَّهَ حِينَ خَلَقَ الْخَلْقَ كَتَبَ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ إِنَّ رَحْمَتِي تَغْلِبُ غَضَبِي ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith, narrated by Abu Hurairah, speaks of the mercy of Allah. It tells us that when Allah created the world and all its inhabitants, He wrote with His own hand that His mercy would prevail over His wrath. This means that no matter how angry or upset He may be with us for our wrongdoings, He will always show us more mercy than anger. We can take comfort in knowing that even if we make mistakes or do something wrong, Allah will still forgive us and show us compassion. This hadith teaches us to have faith in the power of God's mercy and to never give up hope even when we feel like we have done something wrong.
