Have faith in both His mercy and punishment; Strive to do good deeds with belief that only through His mercy can one attain paradise

This hadith is about having faith in the mercy and punishment of Allah. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that if believers knew what kind of punishment awaits them, they would not hope for Paradise. Similarly, if disbelievers knew how much mercy Allah has, they would not despair from attaining Paradise. This hadith teaches us to have faith in the justice system of Allah; He is both merciful and punishing when it comes to our actions. We should never be too confident that we will attain paradise nor too hopeless that we will never make it there; instead, we should strive to do good deeds with the belief that only through His mercy can we attain paradise.
