QUICK LESSONS:
Recite supplications before going asleep or waking up .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith narrates the supplications that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to say before going to sleep and after waking up. Before sleeping he would recite “O Allah, in Your Name I die and I live” and upon waking he would recite “Allah praise is due to Allah who revived my soul after causing its death and to Him is the resurrection”. These supplications are a reminder of our mortality as humans; we will all eventually die but it is only through Allah's mercy that we can be revived again on the Day of Judgment. It also serves as a reminder for us not to take life for granted; instead we should strive towards righteousness so that when our souls are taken away from us they will be returned back with ease on the Day of Judgment. Furthermore this hadith teaches us about gratitude; even though death may seem like an end it can also be seen as a new beginning if one has been righteous in their life. Therefore it is important for us all to thank God for His blessings no matter what situation we find ourselves in.
