Jami at-Tirmidhi 3349 (Book 47, Hadith 401) #28998
Interrupting the Prophet's Salat

SUMMARY: The Prophet was performing Salat when Abu Jahl interrupted him and Allah revealed a verse in response to his interruption.

Ibn Abbas narrated: "The Prophet was performing Salat when Abu Jahl came to him and said: 'Have I not forbidden you from this? Have I not forbidden you from this? Have I not forbidden you from this?’ The Prophet turned and scolded him. So Abu Jahl said: 'You know that no one has more to call for assistance than me.’ So Allah, Blessed is He and Most High, revealed: Then let him call upon his council. We will call out the guards of Hell". So Ibn Abbas said: "By Allah, if he had called his council, then the guards of Hell would have seized him".

QUICK LESSONS:
Respect others while they are praying and do not interrupt them .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's prayer being interrupted by Abu Jahl. In response, Allah revealed a verse from the Quran which stated that if someone interrupts another person while they are praying, then they should call upon their council for help. Ibn Abbas then said that if Abu Jahl had called upon his council, then he would have been taken away by the guards of Hell. This hadith teaches us that we should not interrupt people while they are praying and it also shows us how powerful Allah is as He can reveal verses from His book in order to protect His beloved prophet.
