Jami at-Tirmidhi 3341 (Book 47, Hadith 393) #28990
Fighting for the Oneness of Allah

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad was commanded to fight people until they accept the oneness of Allah and that their judgement is for Allah alone.

Jabir narrated that : the Messenger of Allah said: "I have been ordered to fight the people until they say: 'La ilaha illallah’. So when they say that, their blood and their wealth are safe from me, except for a right, and their reckoning is for Allah". Then he recited: So remind them – you are only one who reminds. You are not a dictator over them.

QUICK LESSONS:
Believe in One God , Remind others with kindness , Seek justice when wronged
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of accepting and believing in the oneness of Allah. The Prophet Muhammad was commanded by God to fight those who do not believe in this concept, until they accept it. Once they do, their blood and wealth are safe from him, except for a right, which means that if someone has wronged another person then justice must be served. It is also important to note that judgement is only up to God and no one else can decide what happens after death or how someone should be punished. This hadith also reminds us that we should not force our beliefs onto others but rather remind them gently with kindness so that they may come around to understanding it themselves.
