The Wrongness of Nicknames

SUMMARY: This hadith explains that it is wrong to call someone by a name they do not like.

Narrated Abu Jubairah bin Ad-Dahhak: "A man among us would be known by two or three names. He would be called by one that perhaps he disliked, so this Ayah was revealed: Nor insult with nicknames (49:11)".
