Standing Firm in Faith

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the importance of standing firm in one's faith and belief in Allah.

Narrated Anas bin Malik: that the Messenger of Allah recited: Verily those who say: "Our Lord is Allah, and then they stand firm (41:30)". - He said: "People have said it, then most of them disbelieved, so whoever dies upon it, then he is among those who stood firm".
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَفْصٍ، عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْفَلاَّسُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قُتَيْبَةَ، سَلْمُ بْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا سُهَيْلُ بْنُ أَبِي حَزْمٍ الْقُطَعِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ الْبُنَانِيُّ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَرَأَ ‏:‏ ‏(‏إِنَّ الَّذِينَ قَالُوا رَبُّنَا اللَّهُ ثُمَّ اسْتَقَامُوا ‏)‏ قَالَ ‏"‏ قَدْ قَالَ النَّاسُ ثُمَّ كَفَرَ أَكْثَرُهُمْ فَمَنْ مَاتَ عَلَيْهَا فَهُوَ مِمَّنِ اسْتَقَامَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ لاَ نَعْرِفُهُ إِلاَّ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ ‏.‏ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا زُرْعَةَ يَقُولُ رَوَى عَفَّانُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَلِيٍّ حَدِيثًا وَيُرْوَى فِي هَذِهِ الآيَةِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ رضى الله عنهما مَعْنَى اسْتَقَامُوا

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the importance of having a strong faith and belief in Allah. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ recited a verse from the Quran that states, “Verily those who say, ‘Our Lord is Allah’ and then stand firm”. He then said that many people have said this but most of them have disbelieved it. Therefore, whoever dies upon this statement will be among those who stood firm in their faith. This hadith teaches us that we must remain steadfast and unwavering in our beliefs even when faced with adversity or opposition from others. We must also strive to strengthen our faith by reading the Quran regularly and engaging with Islamic teachings so that we can stay true to our beliefs until death.
