Sahih al-Bukhari 2989 (Book 56, Hadith 198) #2858
The Compulsory Charity of Everyday Life

SUMMARY: Every action taken to help others, judge fairly, and express gratitude to Allah is a form of charity.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger said, "There is a (compulsory) Sadaqa (charity) to be given for every joint of the human body (as a sign of gratitude to Allah) everyday the sun rises. To judge justly between two persons is regarded as Sadaqa, and to help a man concerning his riding animal by helping him to ride it or by lifting his luggage on to it, is also regarded as Sadaqa, and (saying) a good word is also Sadaqa, and every step taken on one's way to offer the compulsory prayer (in the mosque) is also Sadaqa and to remove a harmful thing from the way is also Sadaqa".

QUICK LESSONS:
Helping others with their belongings; Speaking kindly; Judging fairly; Offering prayers regularly; Showing gratitude towards Allah's blessings; Doing good deeds in everyday life

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith from the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ teaches us that every action we take in our daily lives can be an act of charity. This includes helping others with their belongings, speaking kindly to them, and judging fairly between two people. We should also remember to thank Allah for all the blessings He has given us by offering prayers regularly. All these acts are forms of charity that will be rewarded by Allah on the Day of Judgment.

We should strive to do good deeds in our everyday life as it is a way for us to show our gratitude towards Allah and His blessings upon us. It is also important for us to remember that justice must prevail when dealing with other people so that everyone can live peacefully together without any discrimination or prejudice. Finally, we must always offer prayers regularly as it is one of the most important ways for us to express our love and devotion towards Allah Almighty.
