Virtue of Protecting Other Muslims

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ was asked which of the Muslims is most virtuous, and he replied that it is the one from whose tongue and hand other Muslims are safe.

Narrated Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari: that the Prophet was asked: "Which of the Muslims is most virtuous?" He said: "The one from (the harm of) whose tongue and hand (other) Muslims are safe".
حَدَّثَنَا بِذَلِكَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنْ بُرَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الأَشْعَرِيِّ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ سُئِلَ أَىُّ الْمُسْلِمِينَ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ ‏ "‏ مَنْ سَلِمَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ مِنْ لِسَانِهِ وَيَدِهِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ حَدِيثِ أَبِي مُوسَى الأَشْعَرِيِّ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ .
