Jami at-Tirmidhi 2478 (Book 37, Hadith 64) #28113
The Consequences of Belching

SUMMARY: Belching in the presence of the Prophet (s.a.w) is discouraged as those who are filled most in this world will be hungriest on the Day of Judgement.

Yahya Al-Bakka' narrated from Ibn 'Umar who said: "A man belched in the presence of the Prophet(s.a.w), so he said: 'Restrain your belching from us. For indeed those who are filled most in the world will be the hungriest on the Day of Judgement'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Restrain yourself from belching in front of others; Do good deeds; Remember Allah often; Be respectful to others; Strive for rewards on the day of judgement instead of focusing solely on worldly matters and pleasures .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that we should not belch in front of others as it is considered disrespectful and impolite. Furthermore, it warns us about being too focused on worldly matters and pleasures as they will not benefit us on the Day of Judgement when we will be judged for our deeds. We should strive to do good deeds and remember Allah often so that we can be rewarded for them on the Day of Judgement instead.
